Introduction to the Strasberg method
Method acting is the most misunderstood technique in the world. Much of what you read on the internet is wrong. Method acting helps you feel the required emotion reliably, take after take. There is a reason that the ranks of method trained actors include:
Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, Robert de Niro, Bradley Cooper, Lady Gaga, Johnny Depp, James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, Meryl Streep, Marion Cotillard and Daniel Day Lewis.
Like these actors, you also can learn how to move an audience and have them experience your life with you on film or on stage with the Strasberg method.
Important components of the Method or the Strasberg technique are the relaxation exercises and the sense memory exercises. Relaxation exercises will release the mental and physical tension in the body. It will help you concentrate and will give you control of yourself, which is very important in order to give a great performance. Much of what stands in the actor’s way aren’t acting problems, but their personal issues of their inhibited muscles and tension. The sense memory exercises trains our senses to respond on the stage as they do in life.
