Beek Groot is a director and film maker. Graduated as a fiction director at the Netherlands Filmacademy.

In 2022 Beek directed the film Entertain Me. The film was selected for the Dutch Film Festival (NFF), and nominated for the Verna Fields award.

In 2023, he directed John Patrick Shanley’s play Where’s My Money? and Theresa Rebeck’s provocative comedy SEMINAR.

Beek’s work focusses on characters that look at society from a position in the margins – weird and sometimes incomprehensible figures, whose unique worldviews serve as an antidote to stifling normality; an emancipation of the uninvited guest at society’s grand party.

He is currently writing a feature film.
