Two-Day Intensive: Acting for Camera

This fast-paced, hands-on intensive is designed for actors who want to strengthen their on-camera technique while capturing high-quality material for their professional showreel.

Over two intensive days, actors will shoot multiple scenes, monologues, and structured improvisations specifically crafted to generate dynamic, contemporary footage for showreels — one of the most essential tools for securing representation and casting opportunities.

All scripts and scene material will be assigned in advance so participants arrive fully prepared to rehearse and move confidently and efficiently into shooting. Actors are expected to be off-book and camera-ready.

In addition to filming, the workshop focuses on practical, playable acting techniques specifically for the camera. We will explore the essential principles behind truthful, compelling screen performance, with particular emphasis on personalization — the process of creating a deeply authentic and immediate version of yourself within every moment on screen.

At the heart of our work are the fundamental questions of acting for camera:

• Who am I?
• What do I want?
• How badly do I want it?
• How do I get it?
• And ultimately: What I do depends on what they do.

Drawing from contemporary screen acting approaches and Meisner-based technique, the class emphasizes responsiveness, emotional specificity, and behavioral truth — the qualities that define the strongest film and television performances today.
